The Second Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan
Guwahati Regional Art Exhibition 2006
was inaugurated on 23 January 2007
by eminent artist Shri Noni Borpuzari
at the reception centre of Srimanta
Sankaradeva Kalakshetra Guwahati.
This Annual feature under the auspices
of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan
Guwahati Region is being hosted by
Kendriya Vidyalaya NF Rly Maligaon
this year.
Shri
Maniyappan P.P. Principal K.V.NF Rly
Maligaon welcomed the judges with
the traditional custom of 'phulam
gamosha' and also spoke about the
novel idea of KVS Guwahati Region
to give a platform to the students
and the teachers to explore their
innate talents which adds more qualities
to strengthen their abilities for
creative thinking which is a foundation
for the personal development during
their transition age.
Shri
U.N.Khawarey, Assistant Commissioner
KVS Guwahati Region in his welcome
address spoke on the efforts taken
by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan to
foster creativity in the Vidyalayas.
He stressed that administrative support
is to be provided to the talented
children and their mentors to achieve
greater heights in their creative
fields. This Exhibition held since
the last year at the same venue with
the view to provide platform and forum
to the budding artists and the Art
Teachers.
Shri
K.K.Choudhury, Regional Officer CBSE
Guwahati expressed his views by commending
the efforts taken by the Kendriya
Vidyalaya Sangathan Guwahati Region
in continuing the excellent work in
encourage the creative talents of
the children spread over North East
and to showcase their works in the
Art Gallery at Guwahati. This kind
of an effort will certainly motivate
more such hidden talents in the Vidyalaya
leve to showcase their works in the
future.
Dr.Rajesh
Kumar Regional Director,National Institute
of open Schooling, Guwahati in his
address expressed satisfaction in
organizing such exhibition of child
artists. The efforts made by KVS Guwahati
Region was highly appreciated by Dr.Rajesh
Kumar.
Like
the last year this year too there
were ten awards for the best entries
submitted by the students. The judges
Shri Jnanendra Barkakati an eminent
Artist & Dr.(Smt) Nilima Thakuria
(Haque) an eminent poet & artist
selected the best entries out of 96
paintings submitted by 33 Vidyalayas.
The judging session was conducted
at Kendriya Vidyalaya NF Railway Maligaon
on 07 January 2007.
The ten best entry award winners received
a Merit Certificate & a memento.
The memento in brass & acrylic,
specially designed for this occasion
by Shri Anutosh Deb, Art Teacher K.V.NF
Rly Maligaon & Coordinator of
the Regional Art Exhibition 2006 was
distributed by Shri K.K.Choudhury,
Regional Officer CBSE Guwahati.

Shri
Noni Borpuzari an eminent Artist commended
the efforts taken by the KVS to promote
art education in the Vidyalaya. He
expressed that the more creatively
inclined the children are today it
will be a better world to live in
the future. A creative tender mind
is like a temple
we only have
to nurture it

About
120 exhibits comprising of paintings
by students and Art Teachers, in different
medium such as collage, graphics,
photography, terracotta & bamboo
crafts forms part of the six day exhibition.
The exhibition will remain open till
3rd February 2007.
